If You’re Not Part Of The Solution, Then You’re Part Of The Problem

Not everyone, and certainly not those who cruising the Internet for their next victim, whether it’s to steel the innocence of a child or for their financial gain…
We’ll be as passionate as we can in building a network of “Responsible CyberCitizens” but, we all have an experience or know of someone else that has had an experience, unpleasant or triumphant, online that can be shared with all of us.
The Internet is comprised of hundreds of millions of individuals like you and me, who make up approximately eighty per cent of the Internet, so who is best qualified to make a difference?
You see, a major part of the problem is the complacency of those 500 million Internet users, and organized crime is relying on the fact we do nothing. There are estimated to be more than more than 19 million qualified hackers on the Internet. That ’s more than all the standing armies worldwide. So, unless our computers are locked down, individuals like us on the Internet are supplying PCs (weapons) used to attack others.
A responsible cybercitizen is more than just professional technologies and IT support and making sure your PC is not one of the cybercriminals weapons to attack others but, it’s also good parenting and an awareness of the unpleasant underbelly of the Internet and understanding what we as a network of Responsible CyberCitizens can do, and by joining together can effect change.
